Jun. 7th, 2017 12:20 pm SO, last year around November I decided I wanted to write a 616 Christmas themed fic. I started to write in Spanish, lost steam and then got derailed by adult life, other projects, summer break and then more college/work/adult life. THE THING IS I was trying to organize my files (hah) and I found the first draft and a couple of notes and I've started to consider rewriting the whole thing in English (or maybe write both versions? IDK!)
The first draft went something like this:
- A weird alien plant latches onto Tony and traps him inside an alternate universe where he lives a normal, pretty happy life.
- In this weird AU, he's a professor at MIT, lives in a cute little townhouse and is married to Steve and they have a cat and a kid.
- Yes, the kid is Riri. (I'm sorry, Riri.)
- Steve gets tasked with recovering Tony's mind from the illusion since he used to be emotionally close to him (this fic is post CW.)
- Steve is VERY ANNOYED at that but goes inside Tony's little fantasy world with help from Dr. Strange.
- The thing is that the illusion is as strong as the victim's desire to be trapped in it, so it'd be super difficult for Steve to convince Tony that they're living in a fantasy.
- SO HE HAS TO PLAY ALONG AT FIRST, because he has to break the truth to Tony gently or this whole thing could damage his mind.
- It's Christmas time, cue Steve having to shovel snow, Tony and Riri hosting Stark Trek marathons and having dinner with other happily married friends among other cute things (like Tony dragging his family to Functional Family Activities.)
- (There's a part where Tony builds robotic reindeers and gives them silly names.)
